In this series, we'll explore bop concepts using the chord progression from the tune, Confirmation. After working with a number of students over the past several months analyzing transcriptions of solos on Confirmation by Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon, Gene Ammons, and others, I decided to organize some of the concepts into a progressive method for learning how the bop cogs turn. Look for this series to develop in the coming weeks and months.
