In this lesson, you'll learn about the blues form and how to begin practicing improvisation on the chord changes. In the supplemental video, we'll do some "I Play-You Play" improv practice with a play-along track.
We'll incorporate the concepts from Intro to the Blues, Part 1 in some "I Play-You Play" practice with a play-along track in the key of B Flat concert in this supplemental video. Transpositions are provided for alto and tenor sax. View the lesson first!
This lesson takes your blues practice to the next level by enhancing the basic chord progression with additional scales. The concept of using guide tones to further explore the harmony is also addressed.
