David- I haven’t played a lot of clarinet in recent years. I just stay loaded to he max with sax students, gigs, writing, etc., but I did play a lot when I was younger. Unfortunately at that time I didn’t really have the money to explore equipment. I always played this old wooden clarinet that was an off-brand, but modeled after a Buffet if I recall correctly. I played an Otto Link mouthpiece- yes, they made clarinet mouthpieces too. I was never totally happy with the set-up though, so maybe some other folks on here can offer words of wisdom. Rett is a terrific clarinetist. You might be able to dig back through some of the members recordings and find a couple of his YouTube videos. I believe he’s playing a Buffet wooden clarinet, but I can’t remember what mouthpiece he’s playing. Hopefully he’ll see this thread and toss in some advice.
