Stage 1 Jazz Improvisation Lessons

In this lesson, you'll learn to construct blues solo lines based on basic 4-bar phrases. Using an F blues play-along track, we'll have a series of interactive musical conversations through the common jazz solo technique of trading 4's. As we progress, you'll learn how to create meaningful improvised phrases that incorporate various aspects of your improvisation vocabulary including the blues scale, arpeggios, pentatonic scales, and passing tones. An F concert blues play-along track is included.
